We introduce a new family of solid polymer electrolytes where the Cu+ cation is coordinated with an anionic ligand I-, resulting in a complex carrying at least one negative charge. In the PEO,KCu,I, +\* electrolyte, potassium iodide acts as a supporting electrolyte where copper cations Cu+ are carri

β¦ Synopsis
The complexes involving PEO and perlluorosulphonimide (TFSI) salts of divalent metals (lead, nickel and copper) have been studied. Encouraging results have been obtained with the TFSI anion as the conductivities are markedly higher than those involving the same cations with other anions. In addition, these complexes are generally entirely amorphous for compositions n d 12 above room temperature. The plasticizing effect of the TFSI ion is again noticed here.
