✦ Synopsis

The ESR spectra oi the 4-nitropyridine/mesium systzm in dimethoxyethane have been measured in the range of temperature between -100 and +2O"C. These spectra are drastically different from those of the ion pairs obtained with the lighter tikali metals, and an interpretition is oifered.

## Abstract __Candida rugosa__ lipase was extracted from aqueous solutions into organic solvents by forming an ion‐paired complex with sodium bis(2‐ethylhexyl)sulfosuccinate (AOT). The optimal aqueous pH for lipase recovery was 4.5 and the optimal CaCl~2~ concentration was 10 mmol dm^βˆ’3^. The lipas

Complex formation with alkali and alkaline earth metal ions of cycIic octapeptides, cyclo(Phe-Pro)c, cyclo(Leu-Pro)4, and cyclo[Lys(Z)-Pro]4 was investigated in relation to conformation. In an alcohol solution, cyclo(Phe-Pro)4 did not form complexes. However, cyclo(Leu-Pro)4 and cyclo[Lys(Z)-Pro]4 f
