Background: Monocytic tissue factor (TF), an initiator of extrinsic blood coagulation, is often activated under various inΒ―ammatory conditions including endotoxemia. This activation could be a contributing factor to the manifestation of disseminated intravascular coagulation following septic shock.

Our previous study has reported that ethanol (ETOH) partially inhibited the endotoxin (LPS)-induced tissue factor (TF)-activation in monocytes including blood peripheral monocytes as well as cultured leukemic U937 and THP-1 cells. The present study shows a strong correlation r 0Γ92; p `0Γ01 between
