This paper is concerned with the geometry of minimal involutive homogeneous varieties in complex affine 2n-space and its application to the study of the representation theory of the nth complex Weyl algebra A n . The main results are the existence of minimal involutive homogeneous varieties of any g

β¦ Synopsis
We discuss the definition and the construction of involutive bases, a special kind of GrΓΆbner bases, for left ideals in the Weyl algebra. We consider not only term orders, for which the extension is straightforward, but also the more general case of multiplicative monomial orders.

We show that the Buchberger algorithm for commutative polynomials over a field may be generalised to an algebraic structure which embeds such polymomials, the exterior polynomial algebra, and which is a natural domain for linear geometry. In particular, those finite sets of exterior polynomials whic
