The V(V)/V(IV) redox couple system has been studied at glassy carbon and gold electrodes in sulphuric acid solutions, using both cyclic voltammetry and rotating disc voltammetry. The system exhibits electrochemical irreversibility at a glassy-carbon surface with a value of k" = 7.5 X 10s4 cm 6'. The
