A theoretical and experimental investigation of the influence of alcohols on the critical conditions of extinction of diffusion flames burning hydrocarbon fuels is outlined here. Experiments were performed on diffusion flames stabilized between the vaporizing surface of a liquid fuel and an oxidizin
