✦ Synopsis

Abstract

The annihilation rates of thermalized positrons in the semimetals bismuth and antimony were measured. We found that the different rates were not based on the various conduction‐electron densities. However, excellent agreement with experimental results was achieved by taking into consideration many‐body effects in a random phase approximation.
