✦ Synopsis

The phase transition in fully polymerized crystals of 2,4-hexadiyne-1,6-diol-bis(ptoluene sulfonate) has been studied using piezomodulated reflection spectroscopy. Temperature dependent spectra show the exciton origin and 1470 cm-' sideband to split first. The energy difference between the exciton origin peaks is approximately constant with decreasing temperature while differences for vibrational sidebands increase. A change in the response occurs at 19600 cm-I.
