✦ Synopsis
Investigation of the phase boundary in two-phase systems Acta Polymerica 41 (1990) Nr. 1 5 interactions as hydrogen bridging or complex formation. Furthermore, one may establish that interactions in blends of PPO/PMS are similar to those in PPO/PS blends. The interaction parameters ~p p ~~~~~ should be also negativ and in the same order of magnitu,de as the value xppO/ps. Employing the relationship for the effective interaction parameter XAB for homopolymer (A)/copolymer (B) blends [22, 231: XAB = BXPPO/PS + (1 -B) XPPOIPMS -B(1 -B) XPSIPMS (8) where B represents the mole fraction of component 2 in the random copolymer, it follows with xppO/ps = -0.1, XPSIPMS = 0.032, and ~ppo/pMS < 0 that blends of PPO/ PSMS are miscible over the whole composition range. 20 (1979) 879. 493.
