✦ Synopsis
The synthesis of CdS quantum dots which are embedded in a sulfonic group polyaniline (SPAn) polymer and grown in self-assembled layers is reported and the optical properties are investigated. The CdS nanocrystals were formed using sol-gel technology, and its size was controlled by Nd:YAG 200 W laser irradiation. The composition and size of CdS nanocrystals films were determined by X-ray diffraction. The optical properties of the samples produced at different laser irradiation time were analyzed by absorption and luminescence spectroscopy. The absorption and luminescence peaks of showed blue shift with decreasing size of the quantum dots. The luminescence characteristics of CdS films doped with Cu and Ag were studied. The luminescence intensity increased in comparison to undoped samples, with the luminescence position changing too.
