✦ Synopsis
A resonator technique is used to investigate the validity of microstrip t-junction and 45Њ bend discontinuity models over the frequency range 18-60 GHz. Models are checked against both experimental results and electromagnetic simulations using a previously described dual-resonator method to eliminate confounding variables. The method has been improved to provide results in terms of model phase error rather than a dimensionless validation parameter. Model phase errors in excess of 15Њ have been found.
