✦ Synopsis

Once a security management system is installed, a security domain is set. The domain remains unchanged if there is no system security of®cer's intervention. Therefore, it is impossible to respond to an attack which is done out of the security domain. This paper proposes a Shadowing Mechanism, a new approach in extending a security domain. It also presents an Intruder Tracing System, which is implemented based on the proposed technique. The Shadowing Mechanism keeps track of the intruder's new connections and shadows him/her by automatically establishing a security scheme for vulnerable hosts following the intruder's movement path. It extends a security domain dynamically and minimizes spatial limitations on a traceable domain.

A unifying perspective of non-linear structural dynamic systems as linear in the open loop with non-linear feedback in the closed loop has recently been revisited by the authors. The authors have previously used feedback to derive a new formulation of frequency response function matrices of non-line
