โฆ Synopsis
As noted in the overview to this Special Section, "An Empirical Approach to Behavioral Emergencies" (see the September issue), the Section has been divided into two parts. Part I (the September issue) focused primarily on suicidal behavior and self-injury. Part II is focused primarily on the behavioral emergencies of potential violence and interpersonal victimization. Part II also includes two concluding papers for the Section, one on risk management and life-threatening patient behaviors (i.e., suicidal and/or violent behaviors [see VandeCreek & Knapp, this issue]) and another on the stress of patient emergencies for the clinician him-or herself (see Kleespies & Dettmer, this issue).
