β¦ Synopsis
Just one year ago I was a researcher and writer struggling to get my work published. Now, 12 short months later, I am still a researcher and writer hoping to get my manuscripts accepted for publication, but I also have assumed the role of editor of this new journal in college counseling. Becoming an editor, for me, has been related to, but also quite different from, being a writer and reviewer. Being an editor has involved grappling with a range of questions, from "Is this topic relevant to readers?" to "Is this study worthwhile?'' to "What would it take for this manuscript to be publishable?" I have had to make difficult decisions regarding publication, but the experience has exposed me to a wide and fascinating variety of topics. writing styles, research studies, and authors. I have also been able to learn about both writing and college counseling issues through the critical perspectives of JCC editorial board members and ad hoc reviewers. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to grow, learn, and think in new ways as the editor of the
