This section is devoted to basic concepts in partial differential equations. We start the chapter with definitions so that we are all clear when a term like linear partial differential equation (PDE) or second order PDE is mentioned. After that we give a list of physical problems that can be modelle

This paper considers solutions to elementary fuzzy partial differential equations. We follow the same strategy as in Buckley and Feuring (Fuzzy Sets and Systems, to appear) which is: (1) first check to see if the Buckley-Feuring method produces a solution; and (2) if the Bucldey-Feuring method does
A complete introduction to partial differential equations, this textbook provides a rigorous yet accessible guide to students in mathematics, physics and engineering. The presentation is lively and up to date, paying particular emphasis to developing an appreciation of underlying mathematical theory
Covers the fundamental properties of partial differential equations (PDEs) and proven techniques useful in analyzing them. Uses a broad approach to illustrate the rich diversity of phenomena such as vibrations of solids, fluid flow, molecular structure, photon and electron interactions, radiation of
