โฆ Synopsis
Given the parameter ฯ, the binomial probability is obtained by the formula
When ฯ โค .5, use the ฯ value along the top row to find the correct column of probabilities. Go down to the correct n. The probabilities correspond to the y values found in the left-hand column. For example, to find P (Y = 6) when Y has the binomial (n = 10, ฯ = .3) distribution, go down the table to n = 10 and find the row y = 6 on the left side. Look across the top to find the column labelled .30. The value in the table at the intersection of that row and column is P (Y = 6) = .0368 in this example. When ฯ > .5 use the ฯ value along the bottom row to find the correct column of probabilities. Go down to the correct n. The probabilities correspond to the y values found in the right hand column. For example to find P (Y = 3) when y has the binomial (n = 8, ฯ = .65) distribution, go down the table to n = 8 and find the row y = 3 on the right side. Look across the bottom to find the column labelled .65. The *
