โœฆ Synopsis

Introducing a New Section to Radiation Oncology Investigations

On an annual basis, Radiation Oncology Investigations sponsors an on-line meeting of the editorial board at which the charge is given to critically examine the current status of the journal and to recommend new avenues for improvement. Several board members have suggested that a new forum be established through which controversial topics in clinical radiation oncology, medical physics, and radiation biology be reviewed by recognized experts with differing perspectives. A Point/Counterpoint debate format was specifically chosen to encourage invited expert contributors to produce a clear and concise statement of the issues as well as express their own informed opinion. The contributors have been carefully chosen for their ability to provoke stimulating yet thoughtful deliberation. It is hoped that readers will find this debate format a ''user friendly'' way to become informed of the complex nuances associated with a given issue as well as the application of available data to assist in evidence-based decisions.
