## Abstract Increased intramyocellular lipid (IMCL) content has been proposed as biomarker for insulin resistance (IR). An inverse correlation between IMCL and insulin sensitivity (IS) was found in nonathletic humans, whereas in animal models only a few validation studies have been performed. The a
