Radical copolymerization of (9-anthry1)methyl-and 1-(9-anthryl)ethyl-methacrylate with methacryloyl-p-hydroxyethyl-3,5-dinitrobenzoate proceeds through a mechanism which involves intermonomeric complex participation leading to intramolecular charge transfer complexes. The substitution on the a position of the donor group decreases the degree of intramolecular complexation.

Die radikalische Copolymerisation von (9-Anthry1)-methyl-und 1-(9-Anthryl)-ethyl-methacrylat mit Methacryloylp-hydroxyethyl-3,5-dinitrobenzoat erfolgt nach einem Mechanismus, an dem ein Intermonomerkomplex beteiligt ist, und ergibt intramolekulare Charge-Transfer-Komplexe. Substitution in der a-Stellung der Donorgruppe verringert den Grad der intramolekularen Komplexbildung.
