A series of homologous peroxy-bromides is reacted with silver ion in organic solvents.

Cyclic peroxide formation occurs along with peroxide transfer to the carbon originally bearing bromine.

A preference for five-membered ring peroxonium ion formation is observed in these intramolecular alkylations.
