✦ Synopsis

Chloroform acts as a vety effective electron scavenger in irradiated (A_ = 254 nm) micellar solutions of Fe(bipy),(CN), (bipy = 2,2'-bipyridine). This system successfully demonstrates the competition between the scavenging reaction and secondary and primary recombination. The scavenging reaction is an intramicellar process.
