Issul continues her perilous quest back to Enchantment, seeking the tri-partite god-creature, Triune, and clues to the existence of the Soul of the Orb. But at every turn she is met by forces that would prevent her from succeeding. Among these, it now appears, are the companions she has come most to trust.

In Leth’s and Issul’s absence, the spymaster, Lord Fectur, goes to ever more ruthless lengths to seize the throne, tormenting those who oppose him and contriving intricate stratagems to ensure the rightful rulers of Enchantment’s Reach may never return.

The Karai, seemingly invincible, march on towards Enchantment’s Reach and Orbia itself.
