HRMJ: What do you see as the major challenge facing you in your new role as Chief Executive Officer? BCR: Well I have inherited a rich legacy from former and current leaders. Everyone here recognizes Mike Harper as the first CEO to have a vision of growth through acquiring smaller entrepreneurial companies and providing support to increase their rate of growth. Next, my immediate predecessor, Phil Fletcher, recognized how the interdependencies of our separate companies could multiply the productivity of the overall company. Thus, he promoted several novel internal vehicles through which we could add the strengths of several separate companies and achieve a multiplier of their separate profits, so, I have much to draw upon. Part of my challenge is to take an organization that has grown under my predecessors from an unknown to the third largest food company in the world and now, increase our growth rate.
