✦ Synopsis

This obviously incomplete list of websites has been compiled with the aim to covering sites relevant to the common areas of interest of readers of infection genetics and evolution (IGE). The scope of IGE is not limited to one particular group of organisms and thus, it was deemed inappropriate (and indeed futile) to even attempt to cover sites relating to the full range of organisms which could potentially be the subject of papers published in IGE. Accordingly, the URLs presented focus on the common methodologies and themes of data exploration which might be most commonly used by contributors. These sites represent those commonly used in the course of our research, supplemented by a few additional new sites which we have accessed only briefly. We cannot vouch for the usefulness of their content to all readers of IGE, but we hope that most will be of use to at least some of you.

Topics covered include: bioinformatics tools, analysing genomes, proteomes, evolutionary (phylogenetic) analysis, major medical (epidemiological) organisations, contacts e.g. societies, culture strains and collections, and teaching utilities. The full list is also available on-line at http://www. ex.ac.uk/∼jrsteve0/JRS.html.

## Abstract The present work contributes to the debate of skeletal part use in archaeology to reconstruct hominid economic behaviour during the Pleistocene. It doubles the sample of sites where comparison of long limb bone element quantification is made by using alternative identification technique
