β¦ Synopsis
THE Symposium was attended by well over 150 participants. After the Symposium was opened by the Director of the Mario Negri Institute, Dr S. Garattini, some 38 papers were presented. These were of a high standard, covering such diverse topics as mass fragmentography, especially in the quantitation of low levels of compounds in biological extracts, identification of drug metabolites, use of g.c.-m.s. in clinical chemistry and the use of g.c.-m.s.-computer systems.
The first day, with sessions chaired by N. Castagnoli Jr, J. K. MacLeod and T. Walle, was devoted to the identification of drug metabolites by mass spectrometry.
