✦ Synopsis
The luminometers developed and manufactured by EG&G Berthold have been designed to measure bioand chemiluminescent samples with highest priority to detection sensitivity, reliability, and ease of operation. The luminometers of EG&G Berthold are equipped with state of the art photon counting technology, automatic reagent injectors, and microprocessor control.
To meet the demand of different customers with various applications, a complete instrument line is available, ranging from the single tube luminometer Lumat LB 9501 to the 400 sample rack luminometer LB 954, also including the microplate format-based MicroLumat LB 96 P. The instruments are either operated in the stand-alone mode or under control of a PC.
The list of bio-and chemiluminescence applications is growing continuously. The most important ones include: Measurement of ATP to determine bacterial contamination or growth of mammalian cells. Quantification of the luciferase enzyme as a reporter for gene regulation. Cellular chemiluminescence to study inflammation and immune system effects. Luminescence-based immunoassays for a growing number of analytes, being the only method surpassing sensitivity of radio immunoassay.
