The Society

The Society was formed at a meeting in Cambridge, England, in December 1980. According to the constitution, the aim of the Society is to: "Promote, for the benefit of the public, the production and dissemination of scientific knowledge and understanding concerning coral reefs, both living and fossil". To achieve these objectives the Society is empowered to hold meetings or other gatherings, to print and distribute any paper relating to coral reefs, to raise funds and receive contributions by way of subscription or donation.

Coral

Reefs: a Springer-Verlag publication ISRS works with Springer-Verlag in producing the quarterly journal Coral Reefs. Contributed papers concentrate on quantitative and theoretical reef studies, including experimental and laboratory work and modelling.
