✦ Synopsis
NMR characteristics of models for internal unsaturation in PVC were determined for the following compounds: 4-chlorohexene-2, 2-chlorohexene-3 and an internal unsaturated copolymer, The internal unsaturated copolymer was obtained by copolymerization of vinyl chloride with 4-chloropentine-l. The polymer structure was established with the aid of NMR, a radiochemical method and by a selective reaction of allylic chlorine with phenol. NMR characteristics of the internal unsaturated models make possible the identification of this structural defect in PVC. It was demonstrated that internal unsaturation in PVC can appear as a result of copolymerization with acetylenic impurities in the monomer.
