We propose that electronic energy transfer between a pak of molecules in a condensed medium, whose energy levels are off-resonance, can be induced by sisnuitaneous intermolecular coupling and radiative intctaction with an intense optical Eeld. This effect is amenable to experimental observation.
In this note we explore some of the consequences of the interaction of an intense electromagnetic fteId with a pair of molecules. The initial state tn of the molecular system (characterized by the energy Ez) is off-resonance with a manifold of molecular foal states {II?1 (with the energies {.4Yfi)), e-g., {&'Fj >Ef, and no conventional radiationless transitions will be exhibited.
