✦ Synopsis
Mobile and portable telephone systems use intermittent signal reception and reduce power consumption during call waiting periods to accomplished longer standby times (longer durable time between battery charging). This is based on shorter turn-on times, system design, and hardware progress. This paper describes schemes for low power consumption technology when the phone is in out-of-service areas, and low power control schemes during call waiting times.
