โœฆ Synopsis

I have used and enjoyed this series of grammars for years now. They have clear and concise explanations and thought provoking commentary. A great feature is that both figurative and literal translations are provided, really giving an insight into Chinese grammar patterns. Another endorsement is the number of good Chinese students that Leeds University (the author's school) produces. I have met a number in China and they are generally impressive. Highly recommended.

A pretty good grammar primer! The only missing link is a 'pronunciation' CD. In my opinion, all foreign language books need to provide 'pronunciation' assistance. In this case, an Irish grammar book -- where Irish does NOT pronounce as it is spelled -- and is subject to at least three different d
