✦ Synopsis

Motivated by a recent paper-burning experiment (Zhang et al., Physica A 189 (1992) 383), a model for interracial growth in inhomogeneous media is proposed. In the model the burning time for bonds vary in a way that gives rise to an anomalous scaling behavior for the width of the interface.
