โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

Four rhesus monkey pituitary glands were examined by transmission electron microscopy. Three types of intercellular junctions, desmosomes, hemidesmosomes and zonula adherensโ€type junctions, were observed between adjacent granular cells, folliculoโ€stellate cells, and joining a folliculostellate cell with a granular cell. Desmosomes were most commonly observed between granular cells while the zonula adherensโ€type junctions were generally found between the folliculoโ€stellate cells.

## Abstract During operations for major hepatic trauma it may be necessary temporarily to deprive the liver of its blood supply by occlusion of the hepatic artery and portal vein. The maximum โ€˜safe periodโ€™ of total hepatic ischaemia in man is unknown. In the monkey the ischaemic liver โ€˜leaksโ€™ pota
