✦ Synopsis
Intercalation compounds of natural and commercial graphites with MgCl, have been synthesized by a high temperature heterogeneous phase reaction. The stoichiometry of the compounds was found by chemical analysis, and the structure has been examined by powder X-ray diffraction. The intercalation compounds were found to be stable up to 800°C which is contradictory to previously reported results.
