✦ Synopsis

3tP-NMR, small angle X-ray scattering and DSC techniques show that in aqueous dispersions of dielaidoylphosphatidylethanolamine, incorporation of dielaidoylphosphatidic acid causes bilayer stabilization, most likely due to interbilayer repulsive electrostatic forces. The results further indicate that attractive forces exist between phosphatidylethanolamine bilayers which prevent swelling of the multilameliar system at low phosphatidic acid concentrations.

## Abstract Temporal inhibition of protein synthesis with cycloheximide prevents subsequent insulin, but not serum‐stimulated DNA synthesis in G~1~‐arrested chick embryo fibroblasts (CEF). The inhibition is measured by the incorporation of ^3^H‐thymidine into acid insoluble material and confirmed b
