Abstract
After correcting for seasonal variations and longβterm (linear or quadratic) trends, the residual interannual anomalies (variations) of the trace elements and surface aerosol show periodicities in the Quasiβbiennial Oscillation (2β3 years) and 3β5 years range. Quasiβbiennial Oscillations (QBO) of some elements match with the QBO of equatorial 50βhPa wind, but for some others, matching is not good. For some elements, matching with Southern Oscillation index is good. The relationship is probably through the seaβsurface temperature changes, which affect the role of the ocean as a source/sink for these trace elements. Interaction between equatorial wind QBO and extratropical phenomena should also be involved.

## Abstract This empirical study examines the circulation mechanisms of anomalously wet and dry years in the Amazon basin. Data sources include surface ship observations in the tropical Atlantic, eastern Pacific, and Indian Oceans, as well as various hydrometeorological indices in Amazonia during 1
The iron, heme iron, zinc, thiamin, riboflavin, and a-tocopherol contents of different meat cuts (muscle tissue) of pork, beef, veal, and chicken, available at the retail level, were analyzed. The highest coefficients of variation were calculated for a-tocopherol (CVs: 35-60%) and the lowest for rib
