โœฆ Synopsis

A~traet--Water equilibrium in glassy polystyrene (Ts = 343 K) is described. Water content increases with increasing temperature and increasing water vapour pressure. The heats and entropies of mixing show that the polymer contains both free water and water sorbed on the chains, in small but approximately equal amounts; no noticeable clustering takes place.

The interactions between titanium oxide (TiO,) and polystyrene (PS) during the pan-milling process were studied. The results show that TiO, contributes to the crushing of PS when they are ground together. Compared with material prepared by the traditional method, the PS/TiO, prepared by panmilling e
