Using a direct binding liquid competition radioimmunoassay, the amount of the ras oncogene protein product, p2 I, was quantitated in a variety of human tumors and adjacent apparently normal tissues. In 48 of 50 matched tumor and normal tissue biopsy specimens from 50 patients, more ras p2I was detec
