Interaction of 15.9 MeV/u 197Au ions with natAu and 209Bi as targets on CR-39 plastic track detectors

✦ Synopsis
A 2w -geometry has been employed for studying the interactions of 15.9 MeV/u l~r;Au ions with MtAu and t°gBi targets using CR-39 detectors. The detectors have been scanned for binary and multiprong reaction products produced as a result of the projectile target interactiun. The partial and total reaction cross sections have been measured and compared with the theoretical values. Attempts have been made to separate the elastic and inelastic events from the total set of two prong events.
