✦ Synopsis

Hexafluorobut-2-yne undergoes trimerisation to Cs(CF3)6 with Ni(PF3)4. CF3C2CF3 reacts with CpCo(PF3)2 with oxidative addition to the phosphorus(II1) to give CPCO[ (cF_C,CF,),PF,] which is successively hydrolysed to cpc~[(cF~C~cF~)~~o~] and cpco [(CF3C2C~3)2P(0)O~j. CpRh(PF3)2 does not react with CF3C2CF3. MeC2Me and PhC2Ph do not give identifiable products with these trifluorophosphine derivatives.
