โœฆ Synopsis

This chapter examines current commercial applications that integrate GIS and GPS. Many of existing applications are examples that loosely integrate GIS/GPS, such as low cost in-car navigation systems. However, other current industrial applications use embedded or deeply integrated GIS and GPS. This chapter describes applications, other than navigation, for which these combined technologies are now used, for example, Location Based Services (LBS), and road-tolling systems.
