## Abstract **The cover picture shows** the stereoselective solid‐phase synthesis of highly substituted spiroketal molecules. Asymmetric aldol reactions on a solid phase are the key steps involved in this synthetic route. Both resin‐bound β‐hydroxy aldehydes and boron enolates were employed for __s

✦ Synopsis
DuPont Performance Elastomers (DPE) has introduced Viton EF fluoroelastomer, an enhanced flow copolymer in response to demand from injection molders and rubber compounders. Injection times are claimed to be reduced to half of that required previously.
This new compound, developed in response to demand from European processors will help provide higher productivity and lower energy consumption. According to a company spokesman, the new Viton types enable customers to achieve significant cycle time reduction through faster curing compounds that offer smooth flow, faster mold filling and higher output, or the option of higher Mooney for even better mechanical
