A fast moving crime story set in Victorian times when Inspector Hadley and Sergeant Cooper are called to Whitechapel where two beautiful young women have been found murdered. Their naked bodies had red roses stuffed into their mouths and vaginas with a note tied to their wrist saying 'murder should always be artistic.' As the detectives begin the investigation news of two more murders are reported, a naked female and a man, with similar notes attached to their bodies. Both victims were Music Hall artists appearing on the same bill at The Gaiety Theatre. The murder of two news paper reporters, who were reporting the investigations, quickly follow and lead Hadley and Cooper into a confusing situation where the killer continues to strike at will with no apparent motive.e.
