Khan report the remarkable adsorptive performance of CuCl 2 /V-benzenedicarboxylate (V-BDC) arising from the facile reduction of Cu II to Cu I by V III in V-BDC. This approach provides new insights into redox reactions in metal-organic framework materials and can find application in the adsorptive desulfurization of liquid fuels.
