## Abstract Tubulin represents a major protein component synthesized during early embryogenesis of the chironomid midge __Smittia spec__. Both α‐ and β‐tubulin were identified by immunoprecipitation and subsequent analysis by two‐dimensional gel electrophoresis using purified __Drosophila__ microtu
