Abstract
Since the input impedance of half wavelength dipole antenna is well known, therefore, a dipole antenna is frequently used to validate the computational electromagnetic method. Though its structure is relatively simple, it is not a simple problem for the most computational electromagnetic methods. In this article, we investigate the input impedance of half wavelength dipole antenna using the FDTD method. Numerical experiments have demonstrated that the FDTD method can be used to accurately calculate its input impedance using uniform mesh, nonuniform mesh, or subgridding. ## Abstract A new method of using artificial neural networks (ANNs) for the calculation of the input impedance of rectangular microstrip patch antennas has been adopted in this paper. The results obtained using ANNs are compared with the experimental findings, theoretical values, and with the simul
The design of FSSs with double-square-loop patch elements has been illustrated theoretically and experimentally. The differential evolution strategy, a very efficient optimization algorithm, is employed to tune the FSS unit-cell dimensions. The equivalent-circuit model (ECM), a fast computation meth
