## Abstract **BACKGROUND:** Biosorption of heavy metals from aqueous solution by modified activated carbon with __Phanerochaete chrysosporium__ immobilised in Ca‐alginate beads was investigated using a batch system and comparison of linear and nonlinear methods. **RESULTS:** The amount of Cu(II),
