โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

Corporate learning programs are under pressure to show a better return on investment, even as evidence mounts that classroom training may not be enough to ensure transfer of learning to the job. To improve its bottomโ€line impact, the Global Learning and Leadership Development group at Agilent Technologies stepped outside the โ€œclassroom boxโ€ to focus on the learning period after formal instruction ends. It implemented a new followโ€through system and other innovations to encourage onโ€theโ€job application of course learning and to facilitate coaching and feedback, particularly from participants'managers, who can make the difference in successful learning transfer. ยฉ 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
