✦ Synopsis
Hepatoma cells, HepG2, grew normally on microcarriers even at a relatively high agitation rate if sufficient time was allowed for cell attachment and adhesion. However, if a high agitation rate was applied shortly after initial cell attachment, the growth rate was retarded. This sensitivity to mechanical agitation appears to be dependent on the inoculation cell density.
