✦ Synopsis
Host agy nuclear magnetic resonance line widths have been measured in the Kondo alloy Y1 -~U~Pd3, x = 0, 0.05, 0.1, and 0.2, from 1.5 to 300 K. An anomalous temperature dependence of the Bgy line shape indicates that the U-induced host electronic spin polarization is modified on a distance scale orders of magnitude shorter than the Kondo coherence length. This strongly suggests a qualitative difference between the ground states of Y1 _ xU~Pd3 and more conventional Kondo alloys.
